'Michael Thorp 'Making Place' - A retrospective exhibition of paintings, drawings and collages.
Michael Thorp was an artist and writer, who in 1987 founded the journal and small press Cloud. He was born in Malvern, Worcestershire, but spent much of his life in the North East of England. He lived in Berwick-upon-Tweed with his wife Frances until his death in 2008. The wide array of work in this exhibition speaks for itself. It is vital, entertaining; and at times, especially in the small landscapes, deeply moving. No one could fail to find an image which appealed to them personally.
