Off Bridge Street
As part of the Lindisfarne Gospels regional programme, Scottish painter Ramsay Gibb tracks down the sacred sites and ancient pathways in old Northumbria - from Lindisfarne to St Herbert's Isle.
Ramsay Gibb is renowned for this paintings recording journeys across the British Isles, in search of ancient pilgrim roads leading to sacred sites. For The Pilgrim Coast he has been walking two of the principal routes associated with St Cuthbert's and his many travels.
The exhibition is in two parts at The Granary Gallery, in Berwick, and also Woodhorn, in Ashington, between Saturday 13th July and Sunday 8th September 2013 (Gallery open Wed-Sun 11am-5pm). The exhibition is in association with the Francise Kyle Gallery, London, with support from Northumberland County Council.
