Commemorating the 300th anniversary of the capture of Holy Island Castle by Northumbrian Jacobites on 10th October 1715, with displays, talks and interactive performances telling the story of the 1715 Jacobite Rising.
This event is staged in association with The Fifteen (The Northumbrian Jacobite Society) and Berwick Record Office.
Visit the replica 18th century printing press at No2 Hide Hill, where historical interpreters “Times Past” will be printing FREE copies of a special period-style broadsheet.
Enjoy talks, illustrating the events in Berwick during the 1715 Rising, by Linda Bankier (Berwick archivist) and by Phil Rowett at 2.00pm each day in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall. As well as interactive performances in the Old Gaol Block.
