BLF ’25: One Submarine

Gav Don’s One Submarine follows HMS Triumph’s Mediterranean war over 1941.

From January 1941 Triumph fought the Axis with torpedoes, gunfire and Special Operations, serving as a “bus” for men of SOE and MI9. The most successful submarine of 1941, her crew of 64 won 30 medals for bravery in action. One Submarine’s story includes that of the secret agents she landed in Greece and Italy as these men worked with the Greek Resistance.

By December Triumph had survived her year at war, contrary to all expectations. Her voyage home was delayed by just one more mission, whose story ends the book.
