Film Night at The Barrels: All Of Us Strangers

The next sound and film night (at the Barrels Alehouse, Bridge St, Berwick) is on Sunday 7th Sept. at 7 pm, and will be ‘All Of Us Strangers’ from 2023, directed by Andrew Haigh.

Adam (Andrew Scott) is a 40-something writer living a self-imposed solitary life in the middle of London, when he meets Harry (Paul Mescal), and cautiously begins a new relationship.

The less you know about this film in advance, the better, but suffice to say that I think it’s an acting masterclass from Scott in particular, but Mescal, Claire Foy and Jamie Bell also give some of their best performances.
A tender, heart-breaking tale of alienation, loneliness, grief and the healing power (or otherwise) of love – one of the most powerful films I’ve seen in years. Bring tissues.
