On Saturday 8th August, the Barrels Alehouse in Berwick-upon-Tweed presents two singer/songwriters, Miwa Nagato-Apthorp and Jenny Biddle.
With an incredible voice, Miwa hails from Hawick, and brings her unique Japanese/Scottish perspective to both covers of traditional folk songs and her own brilliant compositions. She recently supported Eddi Reader on her UK tour, played at Knockengorroch festival, and continues to gig across Scotland and England.
Originally from Australia, Jenny currently lives in Scotland, and has performed around the world tirelessly (including Berwick) for over 25 years with her folk, blues & roots music, having released many albums of her own work. Her intense guitar-playing, engaging presence and rapport with the crowd makes every gig feel like an intimate session.
Check out Miwa’s debut EP ‘Noren’ and Jenny’s ‘Hoping For A Hero’ or ‘Live at Selby Folk Club’ for a taster of their work.
A great chance to see two of the best folk singer/songwriters around – Sat. 8th August at the Barrels Alehouse, Bridge St. £10 on the door
