The screening of ‘Mary and Max’ from 2009. A tragicomic tale of a lonely young Australian girl who becomes a pen pal to a also lonely 40-something New Yorker. With a very offbeat sense of humour throughout, it deals with loneliness and depression, but tries to remain optimistic. Although it’s made using stop-motion animation, it’s not really ‘one for the kids’.

Free entry, free popcorn, but cash donations welcome. Booking is essential – email d_purvis_condottieri@hotmail.com or go to #soundandvisionfilmnight on Instagram.
