Based on the book of the same name by 60’s counter-culture guru Ken Kesey, the film  stars Jack Nicholson as R.P. McMurphy, a convict who is transferred to a psychiatric institution, hoping for an easier ride than he’d get in prison. Once here, he views the staff and Nurse Ratched in particular as unnecessarily cruel and controlling towards the patients, and encourages the inmates to stand up for themselves.

Barrels Alehouse, Bridge St, Berwick, on Sunday 5th October at 7pm.
