Special Collections: Jennifer Reid

𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 is a new live event series and podcast that rethinks how we understand the archival.

First we are joined by Lancashire dialect folk singer Jennifer Reid who has a rebellious dedication to folk culture, bringing archival material into the present and applying historic practices to everyday life.

This project is initiated by longtime Berwicker Kathryn Elkin, and recent incomer Lauren Velvick, with funding from @createberwick, and support from Jackal, a new cultural space on Hide Hill. We want to invite locals and visitors alike to question, enact and provoke ‘the archival’ from within our historic walls, at events that will offer a proposition from somewhere else, but will also create space for thinking, talking, conspiring and scheming.
