The Blessing of the New Salmon Fishing Season

Join us in celebrating a tradition that was originally started in the late Victorian era for the netsmen at Pedwell to bless them and their catches.

After a gap of some decades, the tradition was reintroduced a few years ago in its current format. A short service will be held by The Revd Rob Kelsey, Vicar of Norham, followed by the casting of the first line and an optional wee dram of whisky or mineral water and some shortbread. All Welcome.
