The Straw Yard is a new cultural and creative space located in the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Managed by Tortive Theatre, The Straw Yard serves as the company’s rehearsal and development space. Alongside Tortive’s work, The Straw Yard hosts a variety of creative and cultural events throughout the year, welcoming partner organisations, hirers, artists, community groups, and performers.
Their website is constantly updating with new events and workshops for all ages.
In 2024 Tortive Theatre was looking for a new home and now manages the site and uses the space as its rehearsal and development venue.
It is a small but unique and flexible space that hosts events, workshops, productions, and exhibitions throughout the year. It is available for hire and over the next couple of years they will be adding to the available facilities on site.
