WE’RE NEARLY READY!
It will not be long until we release the programme for our 10th Festival which runs from the 12th until the 15th October 2023. When you see it I am sure you will be impressed by the breadth of subjects and the stature of the speakers who will be talking both online and in person in Berwick. We expect to mark the anniversary with our best line-up ever.
To be the first to hear about events and to be at the front of the line for booking please make sure you are on our mailing list and follow us on social media. Meanwhile our YouTube channel has free recordings of online events delivered in 2020-2022.
I hope to see you then, online or in person.
You can preview the programme in advance from the 31st August, Visit the website for more information and to book tickets.
Berwick Literary Festival (BLF) was launched in 2014 to add an extra dimension to the town’s autumn season of the Film & Media Arts and Food Festivals, and Heritage Open Days. Another cultural event would add to the attraction of Berwick for tourism and economic regeneration; offer entertainment and interest to local residents; encourage locally based writers; and from the outset it offered enrichment activities to the town’s schools at all levels. Since 2014 the cultural economy of Berwick upon Tweed, North Northumberland and the eastern Scottish Borders has developed strongly and the Festival is pleased to have had a part in that growth. BLF has earned growing interest not only from within the UK but (through the agency of Zoom) worldwide and within the community of ‘word-based’ festivals.
