Girl, Interrupted (1999)- Sound and Vision Film Night

Monday 6th March | 7pm | Barrels Ale House, Bridge Street

This months film night will be screening ‘Girl, Interrupted’ from 1999, on Monday 6th March at 7pm, in the Barrels. It stars Winona Ryder as ‘troubled’ teenager Susanna in 1960’s New England who, following a night with Aspirin, vodka and an emergency hospital visit, ends up in a mental institution. Convinced she doesn’t belong there, she gradually befriends other inmates, and tries to persuade both her therapist and herself she is perfectly sane.

Angelina Jolie won as Oscar for her portrayal of Lisa, the ‘wild child’ of the hospital, but there are several impressive roles here, including an early appearance by Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men, The Handmaid’s Tale etc), Whoopi Goldberg as Nurse Valerie, and Clea DuVall (Veep, The Handmaid’s Tale) as Georgina.

As usual, it’s FREE entry, but please email d_purvis_condottieri@hotmail.com to book a seat. Free popcorn, too!

PLEASE NOTE the change of day – it’s on MONDAY 6th at 7pm.
