Bear Claw Brewery

All our beers are fermented in ex-wine barrels. We barrel-age some of our beers, but our main vibe is the use of oak barrels as a standard fermentation vessel. All of our pale ales, IPAs, stouts, saisons etc are served mild after around 4-6 weeks conditioning.

We rarely bottle or can our beers, mostly they’re served draught in the brewery on our open days.

Dogs: Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the brewery, but they are welcome in our outside seating area, just check the weather first.

Karmic Cakery – Café

Karmic Cakery is the only fully vegan café within Berwick!

All food and cakes are homemade using only plant based ingredients – not your regular mainstream offerings. They pride themselves on providing different , flavourful & imaginative plant based choices for everyone to enjoy. The savoury menu at the café changes every few weeks to provide customers with a regular variety of tasty lunch options.

Stone Carving

The unit formerly occupied by Foodful at Meantime Workshops in Spittal is now home to a stone carving studio run by two talented local artists, Michelle and Josephine.
Michelle and Josephine use the space as their working base, focusing on traditional and contemporary stone carving techniques. Their work contributes to the local arts and heritage scene, offering a unique insight into sculptural craftsmanship rarely visible in public-facing locations. Their practice may involve commissions, restoration projects, and possibly open days or workshops in future (TBC).

Condottieri Glass

At Condottieri Glass we design and manufacture bespoke stained glass panels and windows, also known as ‘leaded-lights’. We can create an original design to order, work with clients’ own ideas, or use more ‘traditional’ designs for period pieces (for instance in the Victorian or Edwardian style).

We also specialise in repair and restoration of existing stained glass panels.Fused glass tiles, in many colours and designs, for splashbacks, bathrooms, or stove surrounds, can be made to order.

Workshop is open all week (unless I’m fitting windows), and we welcome visitors.

We’re based in Spittal, Berwick-upon-Tweed, but cover Northumberland and the Scottish Borders (Newcastle and Edinburgh included).
