Ayton Castle - Beautiful Baronial Mansion in the Berwickshire Countryside

Nestled in the Berwickshire countryside a 14 min drive north of Berwick upon Tweed is the historical baronial mansion of Ayton Castle.

The castle itself is only open a few times per year for guided Tours but the grounds are open all year round and a map is available to download here of the Riverside walk.

Ayton Castle is also home to a 10 and a quarter inch gauge line railway, a fantastic way to see the grounds and the beautiful exterior of the castle. Lloyd the diesel locomatove will guide you along the 500m track where you can take in the sights and scenery. The end of line is “Castle HAlt” where you can stop by the Castle and visit the “Station Buffet” cafe.

The railway only runs on specific dates throughout the year, vist the website or social media to check dates.
